Accessibility statement

We want this site to work for everyone who visits it, including people who use assistive technology.

On this page

1.1 The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. WCAG is published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and explains how to make websites easier to use for people with disabilities. Level AA is the middle of its three levels.

We haven't finished checking the whole site against that standard, so today it partially meets it. [confirm: conformance status after an accessibility audit]

1.2 What the site does to help

  • Every page starts with a "Skip to content" link, so keyboard users can jump straight past the menu.
  • Links, buttons and form fields show a clear outline when you reach them with a keyboard.
  • Each page has one main heading, and its sections have their own headings, so you can move around by heading with a screen reader.
  • Photos that carry meaning have text descriptions, and decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
  • Small blue text uses a darker shade of our brand blue, so it has enough contrast against the page.
  • If you've turned on your device's reduce motion setting, the site shows everything in place, without animation.
  • Both videos on our homepage have a pause button.
  • Form fields have visible labels, and if something's missing, the form tells you in words what to fix.
  • On smaller screens, the menu keeps keyboard focus inside it while it's open, and closes with the Escape key.

1.3 Known problems

We don't know of any problems right now. If we find one, or you tell us about one, we'll list it here until it's fixed.

We'll list anything an independent audit finds here too. [confirm: whether the site has had an independent accessibility audit, when and by whom]

1.4 Tell us about a problem

If something on this site doesn't work for you, please tell us. Email contact@geeqers.com and, if you can, let us know:

  • the page you were on
  • what you were trying to do, and what went wrong
  • the device, browser and any assistive technology you use, if you're happy to share it

We'll reply within [confirm: reply time].

If you can't use one of our forms, we'll take your brief or your registration another way. Email it to contact@geeqers.com.

1.5 About this statement

We'll keep this statement up to date as the site changes, and the date at the top of the page shows when we last reviewed it. [confirm: how often we review this statement]
